Air conditioning is the #1 protective factor against heat-related illness

The xCOLD xPC is an all-encompassing, modular and mobile cooling system that runs directly on the power of sunlight. Other portable cooling solutions may require a grid connection, power from a generator, and/or even water in the case of swamp coolers. The xCOLD xPC requires none of these. By utilizing power from a solar PV array, our patented system can begin blowing cold air in minutes with the power from the sun. Now that’s cool!

Heat waves and heat-related illnesses are only increasing

In 2022 there were 425 heat-related deaths in the Phoenix area alone and the summer of 2023 was even hotter. It is expected that 2023 will surpass 2022. All of these deaths are preventable.

The SolarX|Works solution

The xCOLD xPC solar-powered cooling system is designed with mobility in mind. It is capable of running on 100% solar power to produce a cool environment anywhere the sun shines. In under 30 minutes, you can have the system running full blast on 6 or less PV solar panels and cooling a space of your choice. If the sun isn’t shining, the xCOLD xPC can be configured to leverage an external battery bank to keep on cooling.

 
 
 

Space agnostic

As we began researching the potential market for off-grid cooling, we came to realize that the applications were vast—ranging from air conditioned bus stops to shelter tents to delivery vans to existing buildings. That is why we designed xCOLD xPC to be space agnostic. We don’t preference one space over another. What we care about is providing a product that can meet your cooling needs for whatever space you have and we are here to assist in making sure our solution fits your goals. Of course if you need our help in providing a space we can do that too!

Current Status

A proven prototype

We have a working prototype (shown here) that has been through numerous field tests cooling a variety of spaces from tents to trailers to shipping containers to existing buildings. It has proven reliable and consistently able to bring down temperatures to a very comfortable level for people—the latest field test bringing a 162 sq. ft. quick-deploy tent down to 72°F from an outside ground temperature of 110°F!

Next gen design

Although the prototype has been successful, there are a few items we felt needed to be addressed for the commercial cooling solution. We are currently doing a slight redesign to meet the following goals for our sellable solution:

—lower overall manufacturing cost, resulting in a lower price

—simplified design for both the user

—lighter and more portable, movable by two people or less

—improved efficiency, running on 6 solar panels or less

This next gen unit will be ready for delivery by the end of Q2 2024, just in time for summer. It will be specced to easily and comfortably cool an enclosed space up to 13x13 ft.
